Generosity

I am blown away at the sincerity of people who care about our trip!!!  A wool blanket to wrap in around camp, fun ’50 retro camper pics on dinnerware, lightweight at that, and a gift card to splurge on something fun!  And all the well wishes from clients, acquaintances and family.   🙂

I finally got excited last weekend, at the four week mark,,,,like, yes it’s really going to happen!!  And will be here before I know it!  Now it’s only less than 3 weeks!   🙂  I feel well prepared, got cold weather stuff gathered up, will get bathroom bag together the next couple of days and just live out of it.  Cliff has checked and riveted loose noises, tighten bumpers, tied up wires on our truck.  Got medicine in fuel tank after finding out about a bacteria that grows in diesel and isn’t good and will be a forever thing now for the life of our truck and any diesel truck we own, or anyone else out there too, fyi all!!  An oil change and new filters will be the last week here before we leave is about here!

Yes I will miss some little people who are in my life, but I plan on  face-timing them when I can, sending them fun postcards with selfie picture from a company who does that with your pictures and personal message, and other fun things I find along the way.  I know they love receiving and opening mail, who doesn’t?   🙂  🙂  Plus this blog, I love sharing pictures and sharing fun adventures, sights etc.  Am a little rusty though, Hawaii has been quite a while ago which was my last fun adventure blog!

I looked at a road map last night to get a feel of heading north just here in the U.S. haha, have been reading and studing maps of Canada, Yukon and Alaska but hadn’t worried too much about Utah, Idaho and Montana!  hahahahah  There will be lots of tempting side roads in Idaho and Montana ummmmmm.  🙂 🙂   We will be meeting up with two other couples somewhere in Montana who are from Arkansas so will be on a time schedule so intense sightseeing will have to be another trip for our northern states…..We do plan on checking out Glacier while we are there tho.

8 weeks and counting

You think you are being organized, reading, getting lists written on paper and keeping them in your head, then the 8 week mark arrives and you wonder if you really will be ready to be gone 6-8 weeks.  We are entering this vacation as an adventure, it’s too overwhelming to make definite plans, reservations for campsites, fishing trips, flight tours, because we don’t like living on an extreme time frame and that county is so-so big that who knows how long it really takes to get from here to there!  You can’t go 65 on the roads up there and with frost heaves in the Yukon territory and who knows how fast you can go, where else we are taking each day as it comes!!!!  We may love a camping spot to r&r and want to stay for 3-4 days and we don’t have to worry about being way down in Valdez to catch a boat for a fishing trip…….. Just seeing the vast country and ocean views will be beautiful.

Wow! cycle class

So I tried a spin class this morning.  Drove to Delta for a 6a.m. class didn’t know what I was getting myself in for!   Hardest thing I’ve ever done, ever!!  And I’ve rode my bike out of Hotchkiss 4 of the 6 hills and one of them is a killer itself, but this spin class, whoa!!

I was so revived tho, before I hit the hospital stop light on the east end of Delta I was energized, and it lasted all day!  I will do it every Monday that I can.  Am feeling it in legs already, don’t know what the 2 day after a workout is gonna feel like though since I’m ‘feeling’ the workout now!!

I get Loni every Wednesday while Amy volunteers at Pax’s school for the lunch hour.  She is so talkative.  I pull out her ‘binkie’ so I can understand her better, although she does a good job talking with it in!!

I picked up Paxton today from school, he was so cute about my snacks.  All I had were cherry tomatoes and cheese and crackers.  Tomatoes??? he said.  I didn’t have any fruit Pax, I said…..

I’m having fun

So being a grandparent is so much fun.  Of course it helps when you have grandchildren who live close by.  Two are 5 doors down the street, and one is only and hour away.

Today Paxton went out to granny great’s house and helped load wood onto the four wheeler, a tree had fallen a while back and needed cut up and moved.  When all was done and we were on our way home, the back way, Pax asked who was that up ahead, Papa was, I said we sold our car, and he replied “Good for selling your car, gigi,”  🙂

He was asleep when I pulled up to the curb.  Amy informed me via text that Loni, Pax’s sister is saying avocado,    ‘ah caco’.  Maybe I’ll get to hear her tomorrow, she has the cutest little voice right now…She loves Henri our little Schaunzer, and Oakley too, but Henri is baby/little kid friendly, Oakley would rather them not even look at her!  Pax and Loni’s cousin, Raleigh loves, loves Henri.

On to other than grandchildren, Carols car lot came through again, 7 hours and we sold our ’93 Mark Vlll Lincoln.  for a gun and $300……..I wasn’t consulted……..
